At Premium Chocolatiers we strive to ensure access to everyone wishing to indulge in quality chocolates that are milk free, dairy free, nut free, gluten free, and egg free. This vegan chocolate is great whether you have food allergies, peanut allergy, tree nut allergy, milk allergy, egg allergy or any other reason or none at all. What began with our famous Milk Free Chocolate Truffles Collection and then the Hearts Collection of dairy free chocolate to the site at Valentines Day continued with beautiful Chocolate Roses all utilizing dairy free and nut free chocolate and all the chocolate is Kosher Pareve. Then came our holiday pieces like the Milk Free Easter Chocolate. The milk free chocolate easter bunny and dairy free chocolate eggs hopped around and then came the milk free, nut free, gluten free chocolate for Mothers Day Chocolate and Fathers Day Chocolates and we have now introduced vegetarian chocolate bars in both milk and semisweet great for all year round. Our allergy safe candy like halloween witch, skulls, pumpkins, and figures were a big hit and the Christmas and Hanukah chocolates were fabulous at Christmas time. Chocolate Santa, holiday trees, snowman and the like went for the Christmas season as well as dreidels and other hanukah figures all classified as nut free chocolate for the Chanukah season. All of our chocolates are lactose free, vegetarian, and egg free. As a matter of fact every ingredient that we bring into our facility is closely scrutinized and randomly lab tested to ensure that it is indeed dairy free and nut free. These are great as chocolate gifts for the holidays, to say Thank You, Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary and as a non dairy chocolate dessert or milk free chocolate indulgence. • Dairy-Free Chocolate is the Original Chocolate

  
  Those with food allergies might think that dairy-free chocolate is a modern development, created for those who cannot tolerate dairy products or choose not to eat it for personal beliefs.  But, did you know that the original chocolate products, created by the Aztecs, did not contain milk or sugar at all?
  
  The Original Dairy Free Chocolate
  In the book The True History of Chocolate, authors Sophie and Michael Coe say the earliest linguistic evidence of chocolate consumption goes back up to four millennia, to pre-Columbian cultures of Mesoamerica, including the Aztecs.
  
  Etymologists trace the origin of the word "chocolate" to the Aztec "xocoatl," a Nahuatl word meaning ?bitter water?.  The Latin name for the cacao tree, Theobroma cacao, means "food of the gods." For several centuries in ancient Latin America, cacao beans were so valuable they were uses as currency. According to a historical 16^th Century Aztec document, one cacao bean could be traded for a tamale or 100 beans for a turkey hen.
  
  Cows did not exist in pre-Columbian Mexico, which means the Aztecs did not even have milk or dairy products. Cows came over with the Spanish conquistadors, with whom the Aztecs shared their bitter chocolate drink.  It was too bitter for the European palettes, so milk and sugar were added when the Spanish took the cacao bean and its products back to Europe.
  
  
   Adding milk and sugar certainly lessens the health benefits of chocolate, which is why traditional dark chocolate is considered a healthier choice in the modern diet.  Of course, we think that dairy free chocolate is the best. After all, it was really the ?original? chocolate!
